Overview

Magical Forest is Meta Meow’s mobile graphics demo, built with Unreal Engine 5.7 for a Samsung Galaxy S25 powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite. It combines neural processing and hardware ray tracing in an interactive forest environment.

My contribution

  • Gameplay programming: built the gameplay and interaction systems.
  • Systems programming: integrated neural inference into the UE5 rendering pipeline.
  • Tools: contributed to the training tools for the neural depth of field.
  • Rendering: real-time rendering that combines ray tracing with neural networks.
  • Optimization: tuned the demo for mobile GPU power and thermal budgets.

Demo features

The team’s published demo includes neural fireflies, bridges generated in response to player input, and an experimental neural depth-of-field system. Rendering features include hardware-ray-traced reflections and Lumen global illumination, with Snapdragon Game Super Resolution 2 upscaling.

These describe the complete team demo. My individual responsibilities are listed above.
